Find Your “Why”, Find Your Focus and Motivation
I while ago, I came across this great video by Eric Thomas about focus, motivation and a whole lot more. This was the first time I'd ever seen a video of Eric Thomas speak, and he thoroughly amazed me with his energy, power and attitude. It's the attitude of a habitual winner. Today I decided it's time to share it with you.
Focus & Motivation by Eric Thomas:
So now that you've seen the video, you need to find out what your “why” is. Find that person, idea or thing that galvanizes your efforts and your energy into achieving the goals and dreams that you need to achieve to achieve or satisfy your reason why.
If you set out a goal to make and extra $5000 a month by the end of this year, ask yourself this: “Why do I want that extra $5000 a month?” Keep on asking yourself “why” until you can't dig down any deeper. If, for example, you answered “I want to go on vacations to see the wonders of the world, you could then again ask yourself “why,” “why do I want to see them?” Whatever your answer is, keep asking until you narrow it down to the most basic reason, and there you have it, your true reason “why.”
That most basic reason why could be anything, maybe your wife or son loves history, culture or art and you want to share the experience with that person. Maybe you want to experience them so you can teach others who do not have this opportunity about them. Maybe you just want to enrich yourself with different cultures or learn about the great civilizations of the past.
Whatever it is, it's your reason why, and it is this that will focus your attention and motivate you to have the energy to do whatever it takes to achieve your dreams and satisfy your why.
